Found a source for 40lb box frozen chicken necks.
About how many necks would you guys feed a 25 lb dog? Going to necks as the italian greyhound can't cope with the thighs or backs, old teeth.

Conservatively, I would say start with 3/4 of the meal necks, and the rest some added meat. You'll probably find that less than half has to be necks to achieve pooptopia.
I'd always err on the bony side of the scale with a new food like that. Then you can start to balance out meat to bone to make poop come out to your preference.
Are you going to start using these as your main RMB?
I usually remove the skin/fat and usually there is still cutaneous fat still on the neck.
I will then feed some higher fat, ground meat with those necks.
Some dogs might be able to handle the fat, I think it all depends on the dog. If you do decide to feed it, I would start slowly adding a bit more as time goes on just to avoid diarrhea.

My Pinker has been eating chicken thighs as his main food for months, with skin and fat. His coat is unbelievable, soft and thick. His weight is perfect. My IG can't do the thigh bone. I tried wings, but found some whole wing tips in the IG's stool. Was hoping the necks could be the main diet. Sounds like they might be too heavy in the bone department.

Got any chicken backs? Lovely RMB with a little varied muscle meat added. My favorite, actually, including for the "beginner" RMB, because of the nice cartilage-y bone.
(The necks could be portioned out to either dog.)

Me too. I would MUCH rather add MM the next day if I see a poop harder than I want to see, as opposed to adjusting for pudding.
Much rather not deal with the diarrhea gut, and I think the dog would agree.
Just a little flash back.... right in the beginning of starting raw, I inadvertently fed too much bone. Later on took the dog out to do her business and out came these tiny crumbles that resembled
sand almost!
At the time, I had never in my life seen anything like it, and in fact didn't really know what in the heck was going on, until I discovered I had fed too much bone and not enough muscle meat!
But looking back on it, I would rather have that happen than the opposite problem I had when I over fed organ meats for the first time!!
