I made myself an Irish coffee, and it reminded me that St. Patty's day is just around the corner. That means boiled dinner. Just the thought of it makes my soul happy.
So what's your favorite comfort food? It can be ethnic, regional, or just weird. I'm curious, because I love cooking and I need new ideas.

Real chicken pot pie with excellent crust, especially with peas. And great veloute sauce (not Campbell's cream-of-anything soup).
ps
I grew up with "boiled dinner." Sometimes it meant a smoked shoulder, sometimes corned beef, always with potatoes added near the end in that same liquid to absorb all the flavors.
Chicken pot pie will make me forget that I'm a vegetarian!
Its not unusual to have one food that makes you forget vegetarianism. I have a friend who is practicaly vegan most of the year, but she eats turkey with gravy and all the fixings every Thanksgiving.
I'm talking corned beef boiled dinner. My grandma has a special way she makes the cabbage. We don't eat the cabbage from the pot, that is just for flavor. she makes a seperate cabbage with soy sauce, onions and bacon. Its amazing!

Is there any other boiled dinner except corned beef and cabbage???? I live such a sheltered life. LOVE corned beef and cabbage.... deep sigh.
What in the hell is poutine or what ever it was Will mentioned? I'm going to throw out a wild guess... chicken & eggs?? LOL!
ETA: I just looked it up and NO wonder the docs up north recommend it!! LOL!
