Think he is sick, we are all housebroken so far @ 9mos and today i let him out of his expen and turn my back and pudding all over the carpet, guessing hes sick but hope he is ok, im gonna skip the feeding coming up and see if he has a temp, but it dosent really feel like he does. Is sick usually a reason for an accisent in otherwise housebroken dog? I know he can sense my recent mood changes and im hopin he isnt getting low too, and this could be the reason.
never into trash, acting normal he is crated now, i wasnt that worried b/c his demeanor was normal just had to cut the carpet out which i know he read my displeasure about.
If his tummy is upset; that can definitely contibute to an accident. I wouldn't worry too much about his reading your displeasure if his demeanor is fine its over for him.
To avoid any further mishaps I might suggest upping his opportunities to relieve himself this evening. Fasting him will probably curtail the problem anyway assuming he emptied his bowel earlier.
I would also recommend more opportunities tomorrow until you see a normal stool and then you should be good to go back to your normal schedule.
He probably is housebroken but he is still young at 9 months. Does he know how to signal when he has to go? That would be my only question. That is an important step in the process and sometimes it might take a little longer to gain consistancy.

Jethro had a big crap accident when he was coming down with a cold. He didn't start coughing until the next day, so we didn't know he was sick. His energy barely dipped through the whole illness, and his temperature was normal throughout. I followed the advice here: fast for 24 hours (no solid foods) and then I made him boiled chicken and rice for his first meal to break the fast. By the following day he was back to normal diet (with a horrible cough which took two weeks to clear up).
