Isn't/could there be a nose pigment change from puppy to adult. My parents lab had a black nose as a puppy but grew lighter as he aged (til he turned 1).
cassie: My dogs terra and bindi nose changes color from time to time and I had read a post on it in the past and wanted to refresh my memory, but couldn't find it. I do not think they have a disease but want to make sure I am not missing some nutrient in their diets. Just want to brush up on the info.

It could be "snow nose", a black nose depigmenting in winter. Really common in blond dogs. My dog is developing it, I'm hoping the color reverts in spring.

Many of the Labs and Goldens I have worked with get the Winter nose, it darkens again in the Spring. I don’t see it much in black labs, but the lighter yellow and chocolate seem to get the pigment change. I have read about the plastic water bowls as a cause, and lack of vitamin B, or C., and Paba. My 3.5 pound dog has a pigment change to her nose every winter, she’s a light color with a liver nose. I assume since she has always had it, that it’s just a winter nose.

Many lighter colored huskies develop 'snow nose' or a lighter colored nose. I, too, am hoping my dog's nose darkens with increased daylight. I've noticed many blond colored dogs, like labs and goldens also have pinkish or salmon colored noses.
From puppyhood, I could tell my husky didn't have a 'true black' nose if I looked closely at the pigment in full light. It did turn mostly black last summer.
this probably isn't it but you might look up penphigus (sp???) help me Betty. It's common in goldens and nordic breed dogs. I would think there might be scabbing, tho.
