So I came home from work today and our new back pack was here!
I went upstairs, adjusted it and let her out of the crate.
Now she is not a big fan of having anything on her. The only time she has ever really bitten me was when I tried to make her wear a halloween costume, I will admit that I completely deserved it.
So I threw it right on her before she knew what was happening and rewarded immediately with the best treat in the house, cake. Followed by string cheese. Popped a water bottle in either side and a brand new ball. We were out the door.
It was the best walk ever! It calmed her down so much that it didn't even feel like she was on leash. I felt like Cesar friggin Millan!
She still barked at a dog, but not with nearly the intensity she usually would, and all I had to do was tell her no and she stopped. There were a few people she was unsure of, but instead of getting ahead to check them out she dropped behind me a half a step and marched right along.
The best part is that she's just laying down right now, chilling out. That never happens when I have been at work.
So the back pack is amazing. Tasha highly recomends it to anyone with a hyper, reactive dog.
I really hope it keeps working. The thing I have to watch with her is that she builds endurance quickly, so I will have to be careful to vary the weight and amount of time.
We stopped and played. I figured it would help her have positive associations with the back pack. So I took the water out and she had a good run.
The ball was awesome, btw. I ordered it because I was just a little short on getting free shipping. Its a glow in the dark ball that is really pretty bright considering that it doesn't have a light in it.
The orbee doesn't really glow in the dark for very long unless you hold it up to a light to recharge it. The new ball I got is a Powzer. Its not as high quality, and the glow in the dark feature works the same way, but it seems to maintain visibility longer because its a weird green color.
