Does anyone supplement their dog's diet with spirulina? I know some folks with birds that feed it to their (pets). It seems to be a good immune-booster for sick/less than healthy animals. I take in a LOT of shelter dogs with kennel cough, pneumonia, etc. While my guys are healthy and happy, I always like to give them anything extra to keep them safe.
Just wondering if anyone has experience with this.

Spirulina is one of the ingredients I use in a homemade mix I put in the dogs' yogurt/kefir. I buy bulk powdered supplements including glucosamine, chondroitin, carrot powder, vitamin C, chlorella, kelp and spirulina. I mix these powders together, then add a teaspoonful to a quart of plain yogurt. We call it "grass soup" and it smells like the underside of a mower. the dogs love it.
