so i finally found a meat shop to get necks, livers, hearts ect. not to expensive. well athena has up until this point been only on chicken...easiest to get thus far. since i know she is used to chicken i kept that as half of what i give her per meal, and added beef...heart to be exact. started yesterday...only about a pound mayabe less. this morning diarrhea. its not water, still pudding like. havent fed her yet today. dont know weather or not to feed today, to feed just chicken; and should i not give anymore heart for a few weeks?

Too much new.
Instead of half a meal, think smaller.
I don't know how big she is, or how much she is eating per meal, so it is hard to make a recommendation. Let me know that, and we'll try to establish some kind of starting point.
Roughly, I'd probably only toss in an 1/8 of the meal as a new item. Just a small piece. If that goes well, add a little more. Wait a poop or 2 before increasing.
You'll probably find that you add a little, then a little more the next meal, a little more the next meal, and then are able to do whatever within the confines of your pups preferential meat to bone.

1 pound of beef heart is A LOT....
The more experienced raw feeders will help you get rid of the diarrhea, I'm sure. I personally don't know if rice/boiled which is warranted here, or is the diarrhea will resolve once the heart if out of her system. I don't know enough about raw.... except that 1lb seems to be waaayyyy to much organ meat for one meal, especially when you are first introducing it.

Edit reason: Michael beat me. :) I'm too slow!

On to the poop.
Was there urgency? Did it stay formed, just softer?
Probably a safe bet to skip a meal or 2. And yes, back to what you were feeding that worked. Once all is back to normal, you can try adding in a small amount of the new food.

Missed that number!
Yes. That's a lot of new, and for sure a lot of beef heart for a first timer.

(took her out once earlier, a little after she went inside, and she did nothing. we'll see what happens now)
