Sounds like the only proof so far is exercise equipment and the allegations of a woman who admits to having stood by and watched a dog be mauled to death.
oh goodness this is heartbreaking. It gives such a bad rep for programs sponsored by the community that inmates help in. I know in our area there are a few county jails that have programs where the rehabilitate dogs so they can be adopted. These dogs are given one more chance for someone to help bring them out of their shells and to show them that love is there.
I, personally, am all for programs like that. Especially because it gives the inmates a purpose while sitting behind bars instead of causing trouble that can extend their time. Speaking, btw, on a county jail level. Do state and federal prisons have rehab programs like this with dogs or even horses in other states?
Oh, even better. Can't remark on LEOs breaking laws, though, so..
This is an even more disturbing story on the same site--a control facility that has been accused of euthanizing Pit Bulls they take in, even after locating and corresponding with the owners.
