I have a schII female that does not want to jump the hurdle. She looses major points here. Now: she hit the jump at our club really hard and hurt herself and I understand this is the reason she is fearful of the jump despite the fact she is more than able to jump. Question is how do we overcome this?
Welcome to the forum. I don't work in Schuzhund so take that into consideration. With that said, if my dog was afraid of a hurdle I'd start over with tiny, tiny "jumps" maybe starting with a 2x4 on the ground and have her step over that. Mark, reward. (Are you familiar with marker training?)
Do that for a day or two then raise it 4" or so. Etc...
See where I'm heading?
Get her comfortable stepping over low, low items and having fun doing so, then begin to add height little by little, but don't make it look like the traditional hurdle at first.
High value treats or toys - what ever turns her on.
Have you discussed this with your TD? Did you train her to the SchII or purchase her at this stage?
Oh perfect. I wait a few hours hoping someone who knew what they were talking about would chime in, but nooooooooooo.... Not till I jump in and sound like an idget...
I do know that what I said certainly wouldn't cause any harm, but not knowing much about Schutzhund, don't know if there is a specific way that would be handled... ie: playing tug differently with a Sch dog vs just a pet dog.

Pssst,,, They both use their teeth, and they both jump over, or not,,,

Well in that case, I'll just hand out my "TD" shingle first thing in the AM!! Maybe Dennis will let me train his new little shark...
