Listenting to the news this AM on the results of last night's tornados is shocking... the video of this one large, monster storm on the ground for over 150 miles is staggering. Over 170 dead. I hope our LB forum members in those areas effected are okay this morning.
We had an EF-0 in the town I used to live in. It scared the crap out of me, and the amount of damage it did to my home and my neighbors homes was incredible. An EF-0. I'm fortunate to live in a place where tornadoes are rare and when they do occur are relatively weak.
My heart goes out to those folks who have suffered through the devastating storms. I can only begin to imagine what they are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with them for sure and I hope all forum members stay safe.
That system is now tracking thru my area this afternoon & evening. Been raining like hell on & off as the different cells go thru. The worse is still yet to come thru.

Everyone always says they don't want to live here in California because of earthquakes, but from what we've been seeing on the news with those tornadoes, I think I'd rather have the earthquakes.
WOO-HOOO....We ended up getting lucky & most of the really severe cells stayed south of us. The sun is actually trying to come out, now.
Dodged a bullet on that one....my garage & basement didn't flood!!! And I didn't need to run the generator to keep my stuffed full freezer running. :-) Happy dance!!

Glad you missed it. We had tornadoes last Friday night here in St. Louis. The airport was wrecked, hundreds of homes lost--and at my house (in the middle of the city), we didn't even get any rain. It's freaky how isolated and random these storms are. The news reports today out of Alabama are just mind-boggling.
Glad that you were safe from the storms furry,Tracey.
All this so called 'global warming', in recent years, has made these storms even worse then they have always been in the seasons spring-fall.
Areas that have almost NEVER seen tornados in recent years are getting hit with them. Although they are not usually like the ones that haunt the tornado alley areas, but still severe enough to cause death & horrendous damage.
I can't even imagine seeing my house & all that I own, a pile of rubble. How devestating that must be.
Tornados scare the hell out of me...along with flash floods. Just so sudden & nothing that you can do as you don't see them coming until too late.
My heart goes out to the families & their losses due to these storms.
