Having a new puppy in your life does make you appreciate the little things, doesn't it?
Make a mental note of this feeling. Then recall it as necessary during the frustrating parts of puppyhood. They grow very fast and are only adorable in short spurts.
Life really is wonderful. For a while, last year, I was really down in the dumps. I'd been unemployed since July after having to quit an 80 hour a week pet sitting/office gig that wasn't paying beans and I just felt really depressed. I liked the job, but I was spending more on it than I was bringing in. My boyfriend of two years was just back from a 6 month deployment to Japan that nearly broke our relationship in half, and then he decided he wanted to move back to his parents place 1200 miles away and 'think' for a while.
He got a job here in Louisiana, I moved here to be with him, don't really like the area, but... I now have a job, a puppy, I'm closer to family than I have been in 4 years (just a few hours away), and our relationship is on the mend. I have the option of volunteering at the local zoo to help out with the critters care (how awesome is that?). I'm going to school, finally, to become a vet tech and work my way to vet school.
This may not have been the appropriate place to gush it all out, but you did ask me how I am :P
I appreciate your positive attitude, I waited 13 yrs to get a puppy and now that she is 9 months I don't know where the time has gone add that to my two wonderful kids who are young adults that still live at home and are legally blind. My reason for stating this is that when I look at their awesome attitude with all they go through I am in a state of heartfelt amazement. My son and I are almost done with our certificate in business office skills update and I will be married 28 yrs this year to an awesome husbandI really love the friendships I read on this site and how great everyone treats each other. Thanks for the reflectingHave a great week
