I was hoping the end of the world was in play so that I would have an excuse not to go into work on a day off this morning but alas I am still here so in to work I went!
However, since we are in the midst of several days of rain/flooding, this afternoon I had some fun attempting to make a dog collar like the red skull and crossbones one I purchased for Frost. I think it turned out pretty decent all things considered (in other words, my very basic sewing skills)
Since the photos are pretty bad I will describe the colors - it is lavender leather with dark teal webbing (Frost's scent article collars are purple and light teal) and a limey green ribbon. The ribbon is a nod to Frost's tail. If I had a dollar for everytime someone told me she had a coon tail I would not have to go to work during the week, much less the weekend
Michael - I made it from scratch. The artwork is printed on the ribbon though :-)
I am not sure if I will start making them or not. I am toying with maybe having a page on my website where I sell the tugs I am making as well as collars. My only real issues is I worry about what if my stitching comes undone etc - not real confident on my skills as of yet. Additionally, I sort of feel bad because I am getting my ideas from other peoples work. Granted a collar is a collar but I still feel like I might be stealing business from them. Guess I am a soft touch when it comes to business :-p
Here are some of the tugs I made recently. Not going to hold up to power chewers etc but my guys like them. They are made with sheepskin and webbing:
