Forget about all of the other bacteria and nasties that are usually associated with dog bites and you should be ok. Unless the dog has rabies you should be fine. Rabies isnt' a realistic threat in most areas. I wouldn't worry about it, especially if the dog has had shots and continues to be in good health over the next few days.
The biggest concern in a bite from a dog that is vaccinated for rabies would be infection in the would. Keep it clean and take some antibiotics to control any infection and it should be ok.

I suspect we all should keep our Tetenus shots current. Although lock jaw would probably be an improvement for many board members. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
Cat bites are VERY nasty and infectious, so just be careful with your PPC and schutzhund cats. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Lock jaw wouldn't affect my fingers <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
Oldearthdog, you are right about the cats. Those critters are near deadly.
Hell, I get bit about once a week. You get used to it. The last one that got me was a two year old Old English Sheepdog. Little bitch. Oh well, she learned the error of her ways. I keep a steady supply of antibiotic on hand. 2/3s of dog bites will get infected if not properly cared for. Been bit over a hundred times not one infected. Knock on wood... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
