The crows are terrorizing our front yard because there is a baby crow on the ground. It has been up on our front porch twice. Any suggestions what to do? I wanted to dig in the garden today. I see a cat out there, maybe the situation is going to be resolved soon anyway.
I dont know if its true for crows but many baby birds when they leave the nest spend a period of a few days on the ground before they learn to fly. Does he have feathers?

He has feathers. I tried to move him out of the yard. That was when I got dive bombed by about 6 adult crows. I dropped the baby crow on the other side of the sidewalk and during the day watched it. I never saw it move, but it would show up a little further away from the spot where I dropped it. I could get in and out of my front door without being attacked. Then, the next morning, it was back up on my front porch, inside the dog gate. Now I see it is in the neighbour's hedge, they just got the full treatment from the adult gang of crows that are protecting it. I think they are feeding it, and in a couple or three days it will be able to fly. It is an awful feeling getting attacked by crows.
Can't be as bad as getting hit by a hawk... saw a bicycler get struck on the shoulders by an adult Red Tail when he rode under her nest tree. Nature, red in tooth & claw.
There is a very hoity-toity community in OKC called Nichols Hills where large numbers of Mississippi Kites nest every year. The rich folks kept whining about getting dive bombed every spring and tried to "remove" the Kites. OOPS! Bad idea. Mississippi kites are fully protected under the Federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act and state regulations. These regulations also protect the kite’s eggs and nests, even nests that have been abandoned after the breeding season. In other words, just suck it up and get over it, people!
