Elizabeth Anderson Webboard User Reg: 07-27-2010 Posts: 551 Loc: Offline	I have a Bullmastiff puppy that eats like a horse. He is 7-8 weeks old but eats and drinks like crazy! When Zuki was little she had to be practically forced to eat. With her I was giving her as much as she wanted but with this guy I think he would eat himself to death! Is this normal Bullmastiff puppy behavior? I have been giving him his food several times a day by calling him and rewarding instead of putting it in a bowl. He is responding really well, it just seems that he is to hungry to be normal.

If you can rule out internal parasites and the pup is not overweight (or too thin), I don't think it's anything to be concerned about.

I've found that puppies who have been fed close to siblings etc. are very likely to eat as though they are ravenous - usually they calm down when they realise that there is no competition for it

He is not skinny or fat but he will be if he is allowed to eat all he wants! He won't play unless he is sure I don't have any food
