To all those who serve the U.S.--past and present--men, women, and K9: thank you. Your service and sacrifice, and the sacrifice of your families is appreciated.
There is a a planned national moment of silence (prayer for us non-PC folks) at 3pm local time to honor those who have served.
Attaching some names to these generic thanks,
Jeff Frawley - Iraq, Afghanistan (2x)
Will Rambeau - Various undisclosed locations
Chris Duhon - Iraq
In my family,
My father, Frank Snyder - Korea (the bad part - 2 Bronze Stars)
My grandfather, Cyril Snyder - WWI
My uncles, Robert and 'Corky' Collar -- Navy WWII
My cousin, Larry Spitser - Iraq 'Desert Storm'. Flew EF-111's radar suppression planes. Among the first strikes into Baghdad to clear ground radar units.
My cousin, Lee Snyder -- Marine Honor Guard Unit - Arlington.
My cousin, Byford Hoffman - Vietnam carrier pilot - A6's.
I don't have the family history handy, but there were also relatives in the Civil War (Union side) and Revolutionary War. I'll add them to the list later.
Some various others come to mind. I'll add them to my 'Moment of Silence'
