Just got back from the annual Ellis seminar. As usual, it was fantastic albeit crappy weather :-) Lots of people from out of state - Minnesota, S. CA, and several from Canada. It was nice to have a variety of dogs to watch work.
Unfortunately, Frost is due to be in heat any day and decided to be a bit of a headcase at the seminar about people. Needless to say, I told her to suck it up and work through it. Got some great advice from Michael to help our obedience and Frost had fun doing a little bitework as a reward :-)
Here are some photos that I took during the seminar when I could manage not to get soaked:
Unfortunately, my understanding is that Michael has pretty much stopped doing traveling seminars with the exception of a few seminars like the one in MT that he has been doing for years. I think I have been attending his seminars here since 2002/2003.
Michael is so busy with his school that it is not feasible to travel like he used to for seminars. I am thinking that if Frost gives me a puppy, I am going to head this fall for his school to take his puppy class. He is well worth traveling for in my opinion :-)
I was only ever able to attend one seminar, sans dog. Now that I have my puppy I would love nothing more than to attend in a working spot - but traveling out there is just not in the cards. Bummer.
When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.
Loved looking at the pictures. I need to get rich so that I can afford to travel to these seminars and training schools. All of the places I've got lined up to live have nothing even close to the caliber of Ellis and comparable trainers.
