I asked my dad he said his is from garmin, he has a tritronics e-collar, although he he doesn't think he has hit a button on it in almost 5 years, with the garmin underneath. His hunting dog will literally spend all day playing in the woods on its own until they ring the bell outside for him to come back. He got it last year, I think he was afraid of his older dog deciding not to come home one day

Sorry my inital post was confusing. There's an e-collar on the waist and one around the neck - I must have been drinking something good. And they are definately e-collars.

I have heard of using 2 E-collars. As you said, one is on the neck and the other on the waist or further down. I haven't heard about it recently, but I believe it was for exceptionally hard dogs and more commonly used by European trainers (protection?).
Regarding the GPS collars, people do use 2 collars for that as well. I have heard that Garmin will be coming out with a new combined (E collar & GPS) in July. I believe that they can be used separately too. If interested, it is a 2011 Garmin Astro 320 Handheld Dog GPS.
Anybody else read through the reviews. Almost all of them are from people who now feel much better about letting their untrained dog run around off leash.
