I have this lodge in the edge of the forest about 600Kms away from where I live. I took Kaiser with me this time. There are no houses for miles and I take one of my dogs with me when I go there, you know for company and just in case some baddies show up.
A little mouse decided to share the lodge with us and kaiser was all worked up to catch him. He was searching for him like crazy and finaly found him. He went after him, but once the mouse was in his mouth he did not know what to do, he spit him out. This happened a lot till the mouse was soaking wet with Kaiser's saliva.
At some point the mouse must have figured out that he was not dealing with the sharpest tool in the shed. I actually saw the mouse stand up to kaiser and decided that he would fight kaiser. He was trying to bite Kaiser while making a weird mousey growl. Once the mouse stopped running, my little genius did not know what to do and decided to give him a sniff. The next thing I know, he yelped and was bleeding from his nose tip. The mouse ran away... Kaiser came to me with a big grin bleeding from his nose. I washed the wound but did not have first aid. Luckily the bleeding stopped in a few minutes and we went to bed.
So much for being a tough dobermann. Next time I am taking Bommi, I have seen her go after mice, she bites to kill.
I had an excellent 5 days all alone with my dog. The 1200K drive is a b!tch, if I may say so.
