Another disgraceful act of stupidity by the Police in this country.
Just 2 years after the last unforgivable and inexcusable actions of a police dog handler, a GSD pup and an adult Mal, where left in the handlers own vehicle at a dog training centre on the hottest day of the year in the UK, the idiot seemed to think the dogs would be fine, locked in a car with no ventilation while he was doing whatever the hell he was, away from the car, two other officers where alerted to the situation and broke into the car to get the dogs out, they were taken for medical attention but died anyway.
I took the day off work yesterday, my lot were flaked out in the lounge with fans on full, curtains closed, had several bowls of water and access to outside as and when they needed it; they hardly moved all day and were exhausted in seconds when they went out into the garden to busy - what in the hell were those poor, tortured animals going through in the car that would have been hotter than an oven in minutes of being locked in by the person responsible for their care??
I hope, with all my heart, the idiot resonsible is removed from his job and thrown in jail, preferably one with no windows, and no air conditioning, wearing a thick padded coat would be a nice touch.
No excuse, no valid reason, bloody disgraceful.

A later report on the BBC states the officer in charge of the dogs was later found in an area of London with a hand injury....
Difficult to draw a conclusion from that, maybe he got bitten and the dogs were shut in the van for punishment, or someone did it to him for his actions, either way, until the Met release a statement, conjecture is pointless, something definite however, is whatever reason, those dogs would have died slowly and painfully.

How hot was it where the incident occurred? I have a friend in Leeds always telling me its so cold where he is so I just can't picture the UK being hot. I mean I believe it, I just can't picture it.
This is just awful though. Seriously. I've been told its about 14 degrees hotter inside of a car. Poor pups.

Well compared to parts of the states it's probably not, but 32celcius in a locked and unventilated car comes out at about 90 farenheight.
We do have an armed response force which has to carry the guns locked in a cabinet in a part of the car that involves uncovering, retreating the guns then getting permission from on high, if there is a fatality, the officer is immedialty put on suspention on full pay while an internal enquiry is conducted, we do so love our lengthy enquires in dear old blighty! My friends rookey 25 yr old daughter had to question 2 drunk skunks causing a public nuisance and was roundly turned on by this pond life and thrown against a window, in broad daylight with passers by scuttling past, and the person who came to her rescue?? a doddery old chap who got hold of the little darling by his ankles which gave the kid the chance to use her pepper spray till the cavalry arrived in the guise of 4 rather large CID officers, who unfortunatly managed to injure him slighlty as they gently placed him in the wagon, I asked her mother would it be better for her to be armed and was given an emphatic no.
It's beyond me, but I am veering into the politic arena so will shut my gob now.

No it hasn't. We had company from London over the winter and the talk was that the SWAT equivalent was armed, a special circumstance type of thing. Crazy.......
