I was watching a movie over here at my in laws house about 250 miles from my home. I hear my dog hack something up and go look. It's white and a little frothy but turned clear after 15 minutes. I had in the mean time taken him out to poo. He did and it looks like he had ate something funny because a string came out his butt after my wife gently pulled it out. She's brave she didn't even use gloves!! (ew)
I've been told that dogs puking is a bad thing please advise. Other than that he seems fine. She said he ate some cat hair before she could tell him to yuck.
Strings can be bad- no need to panic, but string is a dangerous thing for a dog to eat, it can bunch the gut up like a slinky---the string wrapped around roast beef served at Christmas dinner makes a ton of money for veterinarians.
I'm sure this incident will be fine -- just a head's up regarding string, twine, yarn.
::Blush:: he ate some of his blanky that goes over the kennel. I took it away but my wife brought it with us for this vacation. I submitted to her idea it was ok but now I'm totally against it. It's the kind with the open strings on the end that you can pull out.
I just fed him his morning meal and he seems fine. Time will tell. If he gets parvo I will totally freak out and have the vet put me down with him
yes it was in the morning. He just eats 1 cup of food with some water thrown in when he eats. He won't drink water hardly at all other wise. He's fine I was just being a over protective father
Low sodium broth!
The blanket on the kennel top. Put a piece of plywood on top the kennel that's a couple of inches larger then the top. That will hold the "blanky" (muffled snicker) away from the sides and he wont be able to reach it.
As for the string, if your to queasy to pull it out just step on the end of it and toss a ball for the dog.
I'm a night person. I should never be allowed to post this time of day.
