I had too many run in with stupid lately
2 weeks ago a lady with her beagle on a flex leash, dog is all over the place, dash in the street, car stop very close to the poor dog. Car driver tell the lady to watch her dog, she say that in the 6 years she had the dog, she always been carful of not running infront of cars. Dog is reponsible for its safety?
Yesterday at the Dairy Queen. I am on the outside terrasse with my 2 dogs and an other person has a small barking growling white frizzy mutt. Police officer tells me that Dobes should not be in a place like that as there are many poeple around and they are mean dogs unlike the little white dog. On witch he truns around and scruff and the head and, guess it, gets bitten to the blood.
I could not help to burst out laughting
Any more good lines/stories?
I need a good laught

Hah! Well, I'm sorry the policeman got bitten, but maybe he learned something from the experience...

Chalk one up for the Dobes! I hope that policeman learned a valuable lesson.
I was once walking my very well-behaved Dobie girl at a popular local park. A big group of people was coming towards us and there was a 12-year-old or so girl walking a little fluffball of a Shitzu or some such dog on a Flexi. I stepped as far to the side of the trail as I could, told Savanna to stay, to let this large group pass. The fluffball dog comes charging at Savanna, lunging, barking, snarling, spit flying. The young girl holding the other end of the Flexi had no idea what to do, so I put my foot out in front of Savanna to block this dog from coming in and biting her. The little mutt was persistent so I pushed it backwards with my foot.
They finally managed to get past us. Savanna had politely stood her ground the whole time. As they were walking away, I heard one of the adults in the party say to the young girl, "That's okay, Honey, that was a MEAN dog. You didn't do anything wrong." That just blew me away and I had to really bite my tongue to keep from answering with a few choice words, but I figured it just wasn't worth it. You can't fix stupid.

In hight school I fostered a very large GSD for the local HS. All my friends had fluffy little barkers and were terrified of Reno, who was that sweet but aloof perfect dog. In the midst of one of my friends baby-talking her yorkie into not being "afraid" of the "big mean monster" (Yorkie was bearing teeth, scream barking and lunging out of owner's hands) She got bit square on the nose by her "baby." All the while, Reno was in a down at my feet, head on her paws yawning It was a challenge not to giggle at the site of the then screaming owner dog duo with the blood dripping down her face (surface, luckily) Why would put your face next to a very angry little dog anyways sheesh!

Let me just say this, this is not about dogs, but sharks and it really isn't funny at all. But it is very stupid JMO.
This shark expert was trying to show that if you remain calm, that these bull sharks can be harmless.
Unfortunately, he got bit, pretty badly, I might add.
I saw this entire program, and I have to say, that I thought what he did was pretty stupid. Now, I am no shark expert, but I have heard that Bull sharks are one of the most aggressive sharks out there. I have heard they need very little provocation to attack.
This link shows what happened.
http://dsc.discovery.com/videos/shark-week-bull-shark-bite.html
Warning: at the end of this film there is a bit of blood and so those that are squeamish, be warned, this was a shark attack.
It is brief, but just wanted to warn anyone just in case you would rather not view it.

That really wasn't much blood (not up close or anything) But yeah that seems mighty dumb.

People and their breed predjudices suck. I had my dobe with me once and a dachshund came running up to him, jumped up and was hanging from his throat before I realized what was going on. Poor dobe was just looking at me like WTH is going on...evil weiner dog owner did come and gather the beast and apologize.

Again too many experiences of that to count...
However...
One day I was walking my big male shepherd. Woman approaches with fi-fi fluffy dog and kid. The woman sees Storm and squeals, scaring the heck out of her dog as she lifts it up into her arm by the scruff.
"Don't worry fi-fi I won't let the big bad shepherd get you." While nagging her daughter to move in to the side.
So I looked at this and I get it a lot - it's tiresome.
With difficulty bent over and lifted 85/90 pounds of placid shepherd into my arms. "Don't worry Storm, it'll all be ok, no need for irrational fears..."
Started staggering towards this woman who looked at me, looked at her dog and back again. After a min. she put her dg on the floor. I did the same, the two dogs sniffed and I just walked off. Think she realised how silly she looked.

Tanith, that is priceless! I wish I somehow had the ability to physically lift and carry my large dogs. I would love to do that when people lift up their little dogs as we pass by.
