I have a friend who owns 2, 7 month old Shelie litter sister pups. She has a problem. She left both of the pups loose in the house when she was gone and they chewed a hole in the wall, the corner of a wall, and some trim. These pups do not chew stuff when she is home, but only chew when she leaves. I told her to crate them when she goes away. My dog is their half brother and other than the hypo problem he has never chewed anything other than cell phone attennas, glasses and belts. He's never chewed walls or furniture. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on this matter?? These are sweet pups and I don't want them destroying my friend's house!!
You answered your own question. Your friend needs to get 2 crates and crate them when no one is home. This not only will save the house from further damage but it will keep these pups safe.
You and Chuck are right . It's one of those "for their own good" things. One can't expect dogs not to get bored, and when nobody is around, they need to be confined and seperated. You have given your friend the advice that she needs to hear. Let's hope she listens to you, for the puppies sake, not to mention owner piece of mind.
