I would like to purchase more tug toys for Jethro and am interested in any recommendations for which to choose. Jethro loves fabric and we have had fun with the braided fibre tugs. He also likes things with a ball on the end of it. I have a short firehose toy and he hasn't really latched onto it. I prefer tugs i can stash in my apron pouch or back pocket of my training vest to pull out when we are walking. He absolutely loves sticks and is learning Hup - to jump up to take the stick out of my hand. I have tried using towels, but he shreds them too quickly. I was thinking of making some toys, but I might be better off purchasing ready-mades.
I play tug with Jethro to build our bond, give him an outlet for his jumping and mouth play, and build recall. He is eighteen months and has a good grip, although he plays much more gently with me than he does with my husband, who really gives sharp tugs.

The fleece tug is what we take on walks and she loves it. That is the only time she gets to play with it. I have it hanging on a door stopper that is at the top of the door and the little jumper actually got it one day! I like it because it absorbs a lot of the doggie drool, it stretches and is easy to hide from her during our walks.

Yes, Jethro loved his fleece tugs, the long braided ones, but he has grown tired of them and barely shows any interest. I need to practice better management in the future, so that doesn't happen. For now, I need to put those braided fleece tugs away and get a new collection into rotation. I don't think he needs puppy tugs, as he is pretty much full grown. I like the look of the flat fleece with a handle tug. I also liked the look of the tug Ram is playing with in his video.
