I have a neighbour who reports me for everything... They make unwarranted allegations to every authority that they can. (About 9 years ago I asked them to turn down their stereo at 3am and have regretted it ever since)
So this is the 3rd time they reported me for animal cruelty.
Today I answered the door. "We have had a complaint that you have a very underweight starving dog."
"Oh really?"
"Do you have a skinny dog?"
"Yup."
"Can I come in and see it?"
"Sure."
Led the woman in to introduce her to my........ Greyhound.
I would start documenting all of this, and then file a report with the police, or whoever the proper authority is, for harassment.
I had something similar happen, another breeder in my area was behind a BS animal control complaint against me. Claimed I had 20 dogs, they lived in crates in the garage, were never allowed out, basically tried to claim I am a puppymill who is abusing dogs. Even the AC officer thought the complaint was odd, but they came out, saw the dogs, checked their licenses were up to date, we talked a bit about the complaint, I told them I felt it was a personal issue/attempt at harassment, and they left. They did say they have to investigate any abuse complaint, but also made it clear if they feel someone is wasting their time, using them to harass someone else, there are steps they can take against that person.
charming people, gives some measure of their intellect when they resort to playground tactics, it is really frustrating dealing with oiks like that, have you had it out with them or are they the sort that would just crank it up a gear?
Major pain people like that, our hands are tied here in the good old UK, it sounds like they are just finding ways to piss you off, maybe you will get lucky and they will move away, and you are right, the authorities will have a file on them if they make a habit of playing silly games, they will eventually stop bothering you, nevertheless, it is a piece of grit in your welly you could do without.
