Hey guys I was just wanting to tell all the folks that might be within my area that I am throwing my Annual Doggy Day Out on Oct 1st at Southern States in Stephens City, VA. Its a day/event that I started a couple of years ago to allow people to come and enjoy a fun day with man's best friend. The main attraction is the array of local businesses that come that deal with providing a happy full life for dogs. Groomers, trainers (show, obedience, agility, and etc) adoption shelters. The list can go on. I hope to get across to people that there are plenty of things out there to do with their companions as well as if you are in search for one then there are still plenty of dogs out there that are in need of homes. Main announcement is the donation of 6000 lbs of canned dog food to three of our local shelter to help feed those dogs. On another not I was hoping maybe with everyones love for dogs here mainly gsd's that you might help me out with more things to do at the event to make it more forfilled.
Just one question - do you have people that actively police dog owners? I went to an outdoor event somewhat like this and my dog was nearly attacked several times because the owners were not paying attention.
Things like this are great, but the vast majority of people are too stupid to keep their dogs out of trouble.
Yes I do have people that police the event so to speak. To make sure everyone is having a good time but more so to watch the animals to make sure nothing happens, dog fight, kids bitten, and so on. Its the third year and we haven't had one issue. With my staff and including all the other vendors I have probably 20 professionals that deal with dogs every day to ensure everyone is happy without incident. Luckily its turned out great every year.
