I assumed you had some interest since you keep replying with questions and challenges to the notion that over-vaccination is an issue worth discussing.
Other readers of the thread or future visitors may find the information useful. Or interesting.
The influenza (human) vaccine may also be modified season to season as well as immune protection declines hence the yearly recommendation.
The core pet vaccinations are not modified season/season - year to year. Individuals can have different length of immunity, concerns of exposure, etc. Titers can direct whether the vaccine is needed for the pet, to protect them.
My physician wouldn't say to get a tetanus, mmr, etc every year, just to be safe. That's kind of crazy and an exaggeration but they've proved effectiveness and concerns of side effects have been plentiful for both human and animal. Overdoing vaccines and under-doing vaccines poses different risks, but still risks.
Information should lead us to learning with better outcomes, not stay stagnant. Of course there are always exceptions depending on risk factors. I prefer to make informed choices to the best of my ability.
The immune protection for flu doesn't decline. Rather the virus mutates to new versions that your immune system doesn't readily recognize. Hence, the need for updated flue shots.
It's also good to remember that medical professionals may not stay current on their profession. It took years for them to accept that stomach ulcers were primarily caused by bacterial (H. Pylori) infections. They may also put their financial needs ahead of your pet's health. Sad but it happens.
Like everything else, you need to be a well-informed consumer.
