Had a little brag. H.O.T Robby and I got a SchH1 this weekend!!! Since the club I train with isn't an official club, I had to drive 4.5 hours to Central Alabama's SchH Club trial. Met some awesome people there, especially Chris and Gary, who worked with Robby the night before to get him running the blinds. It was our first time every working there.
Tracking and obedience left much to be desired. I guess tracking wasn't too bad considering we weren't prepared for a track that ended up aging 40+ mins before we got to it, on the side and crest of a small hill on windy morning. In obedience, we hit all of our major events, including a really nice send out that we only were able to practice once on the field the night before. But we got knocked for missing parts of the retrieve, though he did bring back the dumbbell each time
Protection was decent, 90 pts. Ran up to the first blind, peeked in, but didn't go around. Lossed points there. The first time Robby ever saw/worked the trial helper was during the B&H of the protection routine. He had great outs; chewy grips at first (he gets that way on new, hard trial sleeves), but the grip during the courage test and drive were deep and calm. Guarding after the bites was pretty good with nice intense barks. Overall, I was very very happy with his protection!
Anyways, I've gathered a lot of training info and advice from this forum and wanted to say thanks for all the help!
