Ronnie Taunt Webboard User Reg: 11-05-2011 Posts: 8 Loc: North Carolina Offline	My 6 month old GSD was spayed 2 weeks ago. I have noticed changes in her behavior. She whimpers a lot ( never before ) and seems scared of her shadow. Where did my dog go?, and will she be the old dog soon? Does this surgery change some dogs? Ronnie Taunt

She whimpers ( not before )and seems frightened by things that never bothered her previously. Will this change be permanent, or will time bring her back to her old self? On a trip to the vet at 12 weeks, she was attacked by a loose dog in the office, and she does not like to be anywhere near another dog. Could this be some of the problem also? Meaning the act of taking out her reproductive organs is not causing it. Being in her fear period, going to the vet, possibly being man handled, boarding at the vet, being crated after surgery if she was not use to it. All of these things can play a role. I don't know how many of these apply to your and you dog, but I hope you see what I mean. What type of system are you using to raise her? Have you started any training?

We have purchased several of Ed's video's and started off with my puppy, 8 weeks to 8 months. I started research on GSD'S 5 months before we got her. Mr. Frawley and post like this have been a life saver. It has been 12 years since my last GSD. I promised myself and her, that she would have the best I could provide, but this problem has me baffeled. Ronnie Taunt

Ronnie Taunt Webboard User Reg: 11-05-2011 Posts: 8 Loc: North Carolina Offline	I had her to the vet last Friday, and there was no sign of infection and the incision looked great. WE applied anti-itch cream after the cone was taken off, as well as an antibiotic. She pays no mind to it if the incision is touched or rubbed. I always try to be calm, but it's hard to do when you are trying to get a loose dog off of yours. It gashed her eye, bit through her lip and punched 2 holes in her rear leg...........no I was not calm. I do have marker video. basic obedience, 8 wks to 8 mo and e collar for pet owners.I am of a mind that the attack at the vets office is her problem. Ronnie Taunt
