#1 i am not nicks' mentor
#2 Nick is not in our club we don't have a club (mostly all k-9 handlers get together)he brought gambit out 3 times
#3 Gambit is a very nice dog. he is coming along with his prey drive nicely. looked good today no pressure.
He should not be worked in defense. he's still a puppy 11 months old.....
#4 Al, i don't like a long haired GS imo a fault. I feel the same way about a white g.s. the long haired dog was a very good dog i was training him for Sch son of Andy von der Bultsaulle German police dog Nat champion( I forget the year.)I gave him to a Dept. It would not have been fair to the dog for me to handle him . i then bought a nice SCH 2 import sable that i put a SCH3 on
I read Nick's post i couldn't believe it. Nick why would you even mention putting a dog like that to sleep????? Gambit is a nice dog that has to much pressure from the beginning. He a small dog that would make a family/possible sport dog. he needs to be a dog. 6 months who knows
Nick is in a big hurry, he wants a big /aggressive dog right away. it doesn't happen overnight. be careful what you wish for.
I believe a dog can tell if you like him or not, especially when you work him. imo If Nick doesn't like him.. Gambit needs to be with someone who will make him think he's # 1 the greatest dog that ever lived. Nick,You have seen me work my pup she thinks she is worth a million dollars( i treat her like it she spoiled it's ok i'm retired )Gambit needs to feel he is #1
IDOC K9 said my dog NEVER had it. I spent $2500 on him trying to make him have it.. I found a new dog that does the work. I handled him today he will be mine soon and I am being mentored by someone on this forum....
No IDOC does not sell dogs. Nick was talking about the new trainer from the IL Dept of corrections(IDOC), to my understanding he told Nick, Gambit wouldn't make a prison dog.
Anna,of course if he doesn't change his mind. Don't worry about Gambit he's a nice dog. someone would love to have him
a video shouldn't be a problem
what started it. the guy who donated some pups got a dog back from a lady who couldn't keep him. big good looking dog, on the tug, environmentally sound. (looks the part impressive)nick fell in love with him . end of story...
I can understand all the words in that sentence but not the sentence.
