Does anyone have experience shipping such a long distance? The broker says they do it all the time and the pups have never been traumatized by it. Are there signs of stress or problems we should look for when we pick him up at SFO? Any tips would be appreciated.
I had a pup that was shipped at 8 weeks from Germany to Dallas, and then at 16 weeks from Dallas to New Jersey (when we purchased her.) We kiddingly used to say that Kati had more frequent flyer miles than we did. That girl came bounding out of her crate at Newark airport and never stopped. Someone at the luggage area even asked how long we had been separated.
On the other hand, our male was born 10 miles from here and has "had a screw loose" most of his life. If he was the one that had been shipped I certainly would have blamed it on the plane ride.
By the way, now is a good time to ship as the weather is relatively cool. You can
PM me if you want to discuss this offline.
