Hi, everyone. I have been feeding my Boxers raw diet for almost a year now and have had no real problems. Once in a great while i will see very small pieces of undigested bone that doesn't bother me but today my male 7 yr old just passed a whole chicken leg bone. Does anyone know if this is normal? I have never noticed this before. He did have a upset system a few days ago , threw up a little and some runs but went away quickly. Just don't know what to make of it?

How long ago was the diarrhea? Was the poop that came with the leg bone a firm log, or was it still diarrhea (pudding, water, log that doesn't hold its shape, what?)?
It was not today or yesterday but the day before, they had fish on that day. It was really runny, something between pudding and water but it was only two times. It was back to normal yesterday, they usually have very firm logs, they only get loose stool usually on fish days or if they get too much organ like i said in almost a year have no real issues that caused me to worry. I didn't see any poop come before the bone. I have 4 dogs and while i watch them go to the bathroom , i don't always see everything. Had it lasted longer than just the one day i may have taken him to the vet but it went away.

Well, that's kinda long ago to have affected the bone digestion today.
But I'd probably just keep an eye on that one's poops for a while (looking for mucus, blood, skinny or weird-shaped poops, or diarrhea). I would want to see a good log for the next poop.
You could add digestive enzymes if you were early in the switch to raw, but eh ..... after a year, I'd be thinking that the bone-processing enzymes would have been in full production long ago.
I know I sound vague. It doesn't really sound ominous to me, based on what you've said, as long as you see a log for the next poop.
I have one who throws up and has diarrhea if he gets more than a tiny amount of fish.
I'd probably just pay attention to that one's poops for several days, making sure I saw logs, and maybe I'd do with him what I've done with my fish-averse guy: he gets one sardine on top of his usual RMB-based meal, like a cherry on top. So his fish is spread out over three or four days instead of all at once. (You might want to spread out the fish for all of them instead of giving it all in one day, since you see loose poops from it.)
THanks, I did start giving him digestive enzymes today to maybe help with whatever disrupted his system. I just don't know why that bone came out undigested as they have eaten hundreds of legs over the last year and never seen one not digest before lol. I will update this over the next day or two. THanks for the fish info also!
Hey, sorry internet was down for a few days, but he has been completely fine. Normal poops , nothing out of ordinary. I have no idea why that bone decided not to digest but he hasn't had any other undigested bones that i have been able to see. Thanks for asking!
