Living in someone else’s home is never easy especially when training a new puppy. My nephew has a 3 ½ yr old spayed Siberian Husky “Luna” that has had very little training. She is a runner and does not respond to the come command and given the chance will bolt out the door and take off. She is very destructive tearing up anything she can outside, digs and jumps all over the glass sliding door to come In the house, she sneaks into the kitchen to get into the garbage and sneaks down the hall to marks or all out pees in the hall. Basically she does everything I will not allow my new puppy “Rajah” to do.
My sister wants me to train my dog to go potty in one place in the yard, but Luna goes all over so that is going to be an uphill battle. Rajah will be kept on lead when ever he’s not in his kennel and I will not let him play with Luna.
This first of several questions I have, is it possible to teach my pup to go potty in one place when the other dog goes all over the yard?
Thanks,

On leash? Heck yeah. Take him where you want him to go, and praise, reward, and party down when he does.

What Connie said and simply DO NOT allow your pup to stop and pee over the other dog's spot.

Thank you, Now his training and play time will be in the back yard where he will have the least distractions. Should he stop to go potty, than I should stop him, say clap my hands and take him to his area to potty right? Then of course reward when he does.
Thanks for the responses,
Peggy

I let my 6/m old GSD off the lead all the time, but never my old husky... its common for huskies to 'bolt' when given freedom, simply because they're bred to run! as for the rest, destruction etc; she's bored! and is craving negative attenton. Join her up with the local 'dry skii husky club' usally one in every county; I used to go with my husky, they'd attach a harness to your waist and let your husky pull you as you jog aside/behnid it.
As for the peeing... allways offer open doors and puppy pee mats; and INSTANTLY reward the dog when they pee in the correct place. If they pee in the incorrect place (this worked with my puppy) say 'no...' in a calm, quite and disappointed tone; my puppy felt very guilty and stopped.
Pee pads and guilt .... not good advice. Please see Bob's post above and see Wendy's post below.

Ummm...yeah im gonna say don't use Pee Mats. They are not a road you want to go down. The only thing they accomplish is to teach the dog to pee indoors.
my puppy felt very guilty and stopped LOL.
Puppies/Dogs don't feel guilt. That is a human emotion that dogs just don't have
To the OP
if the puppy stops to pee on the way to where you want him/her to pee do the same thing you would do if they were peeing inside.
Say no in a calm/firm tone, pick the puppy up and take them to the area you have delegated to be their pee area.
(that's alot of pee in that paragraph!!)
Keep the pup on a schedule.
wake up-outside to pee
eat-outside to pee
nap-outside to pee
playtime-then outside to pee
Puppies are quick. So it's better to take them out on a schedule then to try and randomly guess when they have to go.

Amber, your right that she does not get much attention, she is very timid and will pee when scolded. She has had two litter of pups when my niece moved in with her two male mutts. They managed to find homes for them and finally they got her fixed.
It's sad, wish they would find her a home when she can get a lot of attention and training. I know it would be easy, she's all white with sky blue eyes and really sweet.

Wendy's post is great.
Amber, you have a six-month-old "registered trained attack puppy"?
Based on this post ... QUOTE:
"I trained my 6 month old dog to attack on command after I was attacked; he is registered and has a measured bite force of 110 pounds O.o ...he's an amazing family dog as well as my best friend and secret protection; his floppy, innocent ears allow him to hide the lethal bite which can save lives. "
and then others, including
"I let my 6/m old GSD off the lead all the time."
and now on some of the advice you are giving in this thread, I'm going to have to ask you to restrict your posts to questions.
I would stick around and read and ask if I were you. But please, no advice.
Thank you.
