Now that I'm trying to do Schutzhund with Marco, I'm starting to work on focused healing. I can get him to sit in the correct position and focus on me, but the instant I move he either forges ahead of me, spin to the side and looks at me for more rewards or decides to see what's interesting on the ground. I started doing it inside to eliminate interesting things on the ground but he still forges ahead or spins to the side. How do I get him to stay in that position? I've tried just the tiniest step and that hasn't worked.

Are you using food? You need to use food. Put the food in front of his nose, lure his face up in the correct position, and reward there for a while. Then just one step at a time, food still there. Let me see if I can find a video.
ETA I don't have a video. Basically, I lure the dog one step at a time. Then I move to two steps, and so on when the dog is ready. Then I take the food out of the luring hand and go back to one step at a time (or stationary if the dog needs it). I keep my hand there and fade that away later. I should also add that I say "fuss" from the very beginning.
I say "fuss" as I first lure the dog's head in the correct position. I highly recommend not using a type of "look" or "watch me" command to get the dog's head there.
O.K. I get what you're saying. I am using food, but it's in a pouch on the opposite side of him. When he focuses on me, I mark, then reach for the food. He will focus on me for quite a while, but as soon as I move he's out of position. Usually still focusing on me, but out of position. I'll try what you're saying tomorrow and see how that goes.
One way to keep him from spining or forging is to put him next to a fence or the wall in a hallway. If he is between you & the fence he can't go anywhere but forward or back which you are better able to control.
Anne, I did actually try using the couch as a barrier the other day. It helped a little. I will try to see if I can figure out how to post a video from my phone in the next few days. I'm not the greatest with that kind of stuff but I'll see if I can figure it out.
