OK I found the limit of the beast. (He's been really distracted these last few days, someone in the neighborhood is in heat and someone is way distracted) . We did 7 3/4 miles mountain biking (averaged a 10 min mile pace). Stopping a few times for water (it's still warm here in houston ~ 75 degrees this morning). But my whole body is sore and he's finally tuckered out!
I'm wore out myself but dang, what an Animal! I'm sure he even went farther than me bush whacking through the woods.
two months ago , henry was at 22 weeks we logged about 45 km over three days hiking . he was good to go every morning and showed no signs of fatigue at any point , even at the end of our biggest day ( 24 km ) .
these days , he's up the mountain learning his job , logging maybe 3 km per day of actual movement over snow , but he's wiped at night .
what is wearing him out though are the new activities : tuesday he rode a snowmobile for the first time , wednesday he learned how to ride in a toboggan being towed by a snowmobile . today , we went for his first skin , which is skiing uphill in uncut snow so he has to learn to walk in the track behind me with out interfering with my skis . as well , he is transferring his " place " command ( sitting between my legs ) to moving as i ski downhill . and last , he is learning " follow " , which is " you can be anywhere behind me , you just can't be ahead of me " .
i can't believe he is picking these things up as fast as he is , but i think that is a testament to the power of marker training .
