Merry Christmas Dr. Betty, and Connie and all Leerburgers!!!
Driving home to Minnesota tonight with both dogs. A bit worried because there is a blizzard in Iowa, right where we need to drive through!
We hope to drive through it, but if it gets to bad, we will have to hunker down in a hotel for the night.
I hope it's not as bad as it looks on radar!
Anyhow, Merry Christmas everyone!!

And I know you will if you need to, and not risk getting stuck in a vehicle in a blizzard.
Here's to a great trip!
(I love road trips with dogs. )

Joyce, they are going crazy on the National Weather Service with the storm and blizzard warnings.
I-35 is going to be awful north of Des Moines. They are talking 20 " and a 45 MPH wind for us!!! Haven't seen that sort of thing for many years.
I might quit south of Des Moines, let it blow itself out. Go Christmas shopping.

Thank you Dr. Betty for that info. Being on the road, even with my ipad, weather radar, I still don't know how bad it is going to get.
Right now, we are driving through Des Moines, lots of blowing snow. I think we have passed 5 jack-knifed semi truck, that we have seen flying past us, several cars in the ditches.
The key is driving very slow, we're doing 35 mph.
I am a native Minnesotan, I won't let my husband drive any faster. If it gets worse than it is right now, we will get a hotel,
Thanks for the well wishes Anne, and Mary, I promise to be safe!

I just had to post this, because being a dog forum, I figured you all, would get a chuckle from this.
So, we are slowly plowing through this serious drive home, when Kaia wakes up and starts to whine.
Keep in mind, the snow has now become very heavy, like giant cotton balls falling out of the sky.
Deeper ruts are forming, making it harder to steer out of the path, and on the off ramp.
The whining now has doubled as Kodi starts in, we finally pull off the road into a snow filled empty warehouse parking lot, near some trees, both of us thinking the dogs have to relieve themselves in a hurry. We scamper out into the blizzard like conditions...... Both dogs proceed to pounce and play and act like puppies in the snow..... no real intentions on urinating etc.
We tried to separate them, but at this point, we all look like giant cotton balls, snow sticking to us like glue.
My fingers are numb, we hightail it back to the van....
All they really wanted was a chance to play in the snow. .
