Hello,
I'm new on this form. I'm a police officer in Belgium and I'm training my K9 'Jack' for duty. I have already a boxer who's was trained for schutzhund. Jack is 6.5month old Belgian Malinois that I selected and bought for duty as a patrol dog.
I hope to exchange and share lots of knowledge on K9 training and handling with my foreign collegues
and I'm happy to help you if you need anything, from training experience to equipment or even on good dogs.
It sounds like you've got a great job, working with man's best friend.
And how wonderful that you got to choose your new partner, Jack. It sounds like you've got some experience with patrol dogs. (Something I know nothing about.) Looking forward to hearing about your work.
Thanks for the fine welcome. I'm happy to help you were's necessary. I'm very interested in learning new techniques and methods. If you have any questions for me, shoot!
I can always help you with top equipment (I noticed the bite suits of Seynaeve on this webshop, he lives in the neighborhood by the way ) or references for good dogs!
Welcome!
There are contributers from all over the world on the Leerburg Forum== it is fascinating to
see how much we all have in common despite vastly different breeds, occupations, religions, finances, etc.
Looking forward to hearing about your dog and training.
Brecht, are you able to tell us a little about what it's like being a police officer in Belgium. What a day in your patrol cars (if that's what you do) is like, what the training is like, for both you and the dog.
Nothing super detailed but I think it would be so interesting to hear about what you do.
And if that's not appropriate, maybe a day in the life of your Schutzhund trained Boxer.
And living down the street from a bite suit maker, how cool is that. Have you been to his house? I'm picturing Santa's workshop full of materials instead of toys and a few mannequins standing around.
And pictures are always fun. Would love to see your pups.
