Yesterday I had bindi at rally o training, she did very well, then we did 3 minute down stays with distractions. she stuck like a rock.
Today all the pups and I worked on down stays and sit stays with beginning distractions. Terra and Cody are just dealing with distractions. They did well. Then we worked on recall. I am trying to train Terra to not back at every cue and her barking as she obeys them. She did pretty well.
Tomorrow is Petsmart, and going for walks. If it isn't too cold.
Enjoying hearing about all your pups and training. Feeling slightly better hope to train like I used to and get back to reporting it here.
Have a great week. sharon and her pups Bindi cody terra

We did a lot of 2x2 shaping this week and it is looking ok.
We are still stuck on icy ground so we are playing inside. Dexter must have felt very good today. I can say he was energetic and bouncy
Harley was just Harley on a high, exhuberant maybe a bit too much.

Well, the rain has stopped and the mud puddles are disappearing. It's a bit chilly out, but we should be up into the sixties this weekend. Looking forward to tracking and some outdoor training for the next two days.
Poor Sadie needs it. The energy is leaking from every pore. She goes into a spin every time I stand up. I don't even have the heart to command her to go lay down.

You should see what it is like with 2 or 3 doing that at the same time. It's really FUN!

2x2 class was very good but because of the cold and ice Harley had his own agenda. He normaly bring the tug back, today not so much. He had to go for a wild run including as many jumps or obtacles he could do coming back to me.
I had to go back to food to help him be more focus. The coach was impressed by his running contacts and jumps all with the tug in his mouth.
Dexter has declared this day to be too cold for any thing, I get up and dart for the crate.

Today i felt a little better so I worked with Bindi. We worked on moving down;stand, sit, down command in heel position. Bindi did very well. She really enjoys working. Like everyone elses dogs my dogs are really amped up. They are very restless. Weather has been beautiful here there last two days. So tomorrow after church I hope to get the pups out for a walk and outside in the back and run them for a while.
I am going to practice tonight the rally o signs and practice heel position for myself.
Soon spring will be here and we will all be back out training our pups. I look forward to it. Of course it is not half as cold here as it is for many of you.
Went to a dog sports center today you can pay them for one hour to run your dog in the agility course. They have many sports they train. It was interesting.
Have a good weekend.
Today I am very thankful for my pups and their crazing personalities.

Started the day with a track...first time in over 10 days due to the rain. I threw Sadie a curve. I've been concerned about being able to remove bait from the track, so I started with an unbaited pad and did 10 steps before I started baiting. She did well, though I wish she'd have spent a little more time on the pad.
I'm going to try that again tomorrow, and if she starts without bait, that's the angle I will pursue. I'll remove the bait by adding distance to the unbaited stretch at the beginning.
We did a session with the dumbbell and worked on some "platz", which I'm differentiating from her "down".
I also did some furminating (filled a 5gal bucket, pressed down) and gave her a bath. She didn't crawl under the truck, but she still won't approach the tub. I was in no mood to play the coaxing game, so I picked up the mature GSD and carried her to the tub. On the plus side, I commanded her to stay and she didn't try to jump out.

Tracking, OB, dumbbell, and a nice game of tug.
Took Sadie to one of our favorite fields, the junior high school. Started her track the same as yesterday; unbaited pad and the first ten steps. Then went to a random pattern with unbaited and heavily baited sections. Less bait before the turns, with baited stretches immediately after the turns. Four turns, four articles (not all solid, but the first two were, and those are the most important to me; I can polish the rest).
We then had a nice game of tug, which was the first time ever outside of our own yard. We did some holds with the dumbbell, followed by three nice "brrrings". We finished up with a complete BH routine (sans crowd, obviously).
Great morning. Glad you felt a little better, Sharon. Great work with Harley, Arianne.

So after dressing the dogs (double coats and botties)and I (toque, full face mask, snow pants, extrem winter jacke, snow shoes, mits and so many layers)for a very short walk, it is -17F today, I was exhausted.
We are now more then happy to do nose work in the house, walking to the barn is just to far to go for the wimmpy dogs.
The weeks does not look any better temperature wise just wednesday is going to be even colder.
