I am looking for previous posts that will answer my question. Since I'm having no luck with the advanced search, I will put it out here.
Ramsey and I have been training the recall since he was a small puppy. So now, at 15 months, he is good, always on a long line, of course.
I would like him to come and sit right in front of of me but I have been backing up for so long, when I tried to get him to do that, he kept stopping 1 or 2 feet away. I guess he feels he shouldn't crowd or whatever. It is obviously my error.
If you know of previous posts on this, I would appreciate a link and/or any advice. Thanks
I did just find the answer Ed or Cindy gave under Q. A.
It was said that what I am aiming for is competition OB and I will need another command for that.

I don't know of previous posts, but I know how I did it. I held the reward right in front of my belt buckle, and gave my auditory stimulator and lured until she scooted right up to me. I didn't mark/reward until she was exactly like I wanted.
After that, it is imperative to stay consistent. To this day, if I recall her and she is not correctly positioned, I "uh uh" until she corrects.

Better check local laws first. That sounds like something that different communities may frown upon.

Have you ever just lured him in front of you and just fed him there? Just let him relax there for a couple minutes, calmly feeding him. Make him comfortable there?

Hahahaha!! What a sight!!
Incidentally, I actually tried all those suggestions. And the problem I am having, is that, he is very large and can still sit 1+ feet away from me and stretch his head to the reward! I put steak (his fav) and told him to touch and he still leans!
