Last night I noticed Amber limp when she got up, checked her over and shehas a large blister on her foot, on the "sole" pad not a toe. She gets these when we've been fetching on hard ground or pavement but this one came after a grass session, so it appears she is a periennial tenderfoot. I've tried wrapping her feet, and boots but for various reasons they do't work. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to prevent this, she wouldnt tolerate stopping the running games. Thanks in advance.

Musher's secret is said to work well, but I've honestly never used any products to toughen the foot. I've always just done concrete walking to get them calloused.
She's walked 6miles a day on a paved bikepath, and we sometimes play on a basketball court and she runs full out... Do you know where either of the products can be found? Thanks for the suggestions

My bad... it's Tuf-Foot, not Tuff Pad. We got it from our vets.

Luca wears boots on his hind feet for this same reason--he kept getting blisters/abrasions on his hind pads, sometimes to the point of bleeding. . I bought them at REI and they are RuffWear brand. They were kind of expensive, but they have lasted very well and stay on his feet for long hikes on any terrain.
I tried several products on his pads designed to heal/toughen them and none really solved the problem. For us, boots were the answer.
Will get some tuff pad, and look into the boots, we,ve tried boots in the past and they didnt work, wouldnt stay on,etc. Shes footsore right now spent a couple of days in the kennel and even with mats down it aggravated the blister she has. So hopefully one of these products will give her some relief. Thanks Jodi
