You mentioned the possibility of Black Mouth Cur in your other thread. I agree she bears a strong resemblance to that breed. Are they common in your area?
Actually Cheri, I have always considered myself educated on most dog breeds but in my lifetime I have never heard of Black Mouth Curs. If I were to see one in the South I would have just assumed Coon hound? Still with all the pics I have seen she is almost a dead ringer for the breed. Not to mention her jumping abilities. I've never seen anything like it. I'm convinced with training she could climb a tree just like the Curs do. lol

It's not a breed I'm real familiar with, either. I've only learned a bit about them in the last couple years. From what I have seen, they're not common in my area. I believe they are more popular in the southern US. My nephew and his family have one. From what I hear, it is a very nice dog. Like many breeds, they do need a job, though!
Of course, it could be that your dog is a mixture of several other breeds and just ended up looking like a Black Mouth Cur. The ears do seem to indicate something else in there. Who knows?
She's a pretty girl, and I'm sure you're going to have fun with her.
To be clear, this is not Bella...this is a Black Mouth Cur...almost her twin. I hate not knowing the breed of dog I have. This is what makes rescuing hard for me, lol!!
I see some BMC in there too. If I were to switch breeds; the BMC would be the dog of my choice. Versatile, high energy, intelligent, bond closely, great work ethic. Disney's Old Yeller was based on a BMC though they used a lab in the role.
My first dog; I was only 4 when he passed away; after which my Dad switched to GSD. I think it was his heart dog; too difficult to replace so he switched up the breed.
This video is kind of long but note the intelligence. The dog does not chase until he sees where the Frisbee lands.
