Sadha and I bombed big time in the ring during the recent trials at Ooty.
I have a lot of work to do with him.
It seemed like he had a good grasp , but then he just plain lost it on the day of the trails.
But atleast we can get a good laugh out of it.
BTW, Bommi placed 3rd in C5 (class B) . Helga placed 3rd in C6 (class C) , because she too broke the long down after 7 minutes. But we aced the judge's scent.
Helga placed 1st in Class C7 and I got 1st prize for best man dog working partnership (even though we bombed big time).
Well, I, for one, thinks he did great. Sure he bombed the trial but look how much fun he had! What a great looking pup! I'm sure he'll have much better trials in the future, knowing how well you work with your dogs. Congrats on the other results.
I had to laugh at how "creative" he got with the down. All the other dogs are trained with severe compulsion (actual beatings ) if they even lift their head up.
I usually allow my dogs to plop down in any position that they deem comfortable and work on duration of the stay. But sadha got creative with the down... he never actually got up , but he was moving around.
I love the bit where he looks at the next dog in a funny way , thinks he is no fun and decides to lick himself

Ram. I'm so happy to see how we'll you and your pup are doing.
You should be proud of him and your work. Good job and I respect you for breaking the mold and not using the popular compulsion techniques the others use.
Well, Sadha was sure having a good time! He had me laughing all through the long down. I've got one that can be a real goofball, too, and I decided I am just not going to get upset about it. Having a great relationship with my dog is so much more important than any awards we might win.
He's only a year old Ram? I'm glad he didn't stay with his chin pinned to the ground like those other dogs. Keep having fun, he'll be a lot better with a little maturing.
Totally agree with everyone, and this is FROSTING on the top:

Oh, yes! Sorry I forget to say congratulations on your first place with Helga, and the two third places! I was so busy laughing at Sadha's antics. But it sounds like it was a very good day overall.
