Have missed being able to log in and hear about everyone's training. (I say hear because it is like you are talking out loud to me when I read your posts) Anyway, been very swamped with the course I am taking on Dog training, Karen Pryor Clicker Training Academy. Training Bindi and the other dogs. I am on Behavior Chains now and back chaining. Great course!
Anyway, I am presently going over all of Bindi's cues and looking at fluency, and doing stimulus control on them. Then will begin to put some of these behaviors and some new ones into a behavior chain for my final.
Cody-since I am sick I haven't had the energy to get him out as much. But have made up my summer schedule and now trying to get up and out early with all three dogs, one after the other, before the heat hits! Working on fear issues with cody. Noises especially. He is doing well with people, most people. Even when he doesn't do his best on any day, he is never aggressive, just fearful. Some people you need to be afraid of, ha! My husband build us a little stand with a light switch on it. So, I am training all the dogs to hit the light switch. They are too little to reach out light switches on the wall. especially Cody. Cody did very well last time he went to the vet. Had a woman vet, had been working with him and did well as she checked his ears and gave him his exam and shot.
Terra-does well in training class. still working on heel with her. She has a long stride and a distracted mind. But she is now returning to my side as we walk on her own. Her health is good, she still has the little sores on the end of each of her ears. It is not from flies, it is from her immune system problem. Other than that doing well.
How are all of you doing with your dogs?
Hope you are all well,
Sharon and her pups
