Backwards chain it. Make sure he's clean on the pole. Once he's clean, send him from in front of the blind and have the handler only give him enough slack on the leash to be a couple of feet away from him. Helper gives bite when dog is settled. After you get that solid, sending him from behing the blind should be a problem. I guess the most important thing is trying not to ever le him experience one in the beggining by making sure he never actually gets to the helper before he's taught to settle down.

thanks valdes....i have one more question: has anyone seen the end of the building drive focus and grip tape where ed showed some sceness of flinks teaching protection? there is a point where he is first sitting, then standing in a chair in the blind, and he's wearing two sleeves. it looks like he's training the hold and bark. if anyone knows what i'm talking about here, could you please explain why he would be in a chair in the blind, and why he would be wearing two sleeves, and is he training the hold and bark or something else?
In Bernhards seminars he will take a dog that is a little dull in the work - settled too much in prey and do somethings that are different to the dog - some things that present a different image to the dog - it turns the dogs nerves on a little and teaches the dog that it must still work properly when it is stressed a little - things like taking him into a building to do B&H - have the helper sit on a chair with two sleeves - stad on a chair - if the dog is sound - send him to the blind with a group of people standing around.
Dont know if it will work for you but my dog was very dirty do to many stick corrections in blind. Then tried platzing him if he came in dirty and started all over again after about 15 reps he got the idea. he is no longer dirty
