I use a lot of dry liver treats. Liver should be 5% of the diet for raw, how do I convert that so that I don't over feed the liver (I read that it's dangerous to do so)
OK, fresh beef liver runs about 40 calories per ounce, so these would each be about 1/4 ounce worth. (I wanted the link to make sure it had only one ingredient.)
You want to provide about 1.5 to about 3.2 ounces of organ meat a day for a dog eating 2 pounds of raw a day.
I'm only feeding one ingredient things. I'm a little stuck with treats, I'm having problems finding treats for him. He loves liver but I can't do it all the time. What else is there?
Since I started raw I'm afraid to give him any treats that have ANYTHING but meat in them. Am I overdoing it?
What do you give?
I guess i didn't explain this right (I didn't read the 2nd thread yet and only half of first)
1. I thought you couldn't mix kibble with raw and treats are considered kibble in a way, no?
2. In my experience, once he switched to raw he became much pickier. I guess I'm worried he won't like it.
You feed raw as well, I guess I'm safe picking everything you said you give in those threads.

No. Soft training treats aren't kibble. I personally don't mix kibble with raw, but there are dozens of other choices for food rewards on those threads.
IME, Leerburg carries more "real food" training treats than any other source I've seen ... and not wheat gluten from China.
One baked boneless skinless chicken breast yields dozens of M&M size rewards. All detailed in the links I posted above.
I like a mixed bag ... also described in those threads. I think many members here use a mixed bag when they can.
