Through out the years I've seen this board pull together to do some amazing things, sometimes publicly, sometimes more quiet.

Sometimes I watched, sometimes I participated a little.

To make a long story short one of my dogs had ended up in Texas and was basically rescued. The chip came back to me.

Within an hour of my initial phone call to her, our Mary Roach Velazquez was in the car driving 3 hours one way to meet the woman who had rescued him. Her and her husband picked him up after midnight and still had the long drive home.

Our Anne Jones was busy formulating back up plans.

Al was on the phone, "What can I do?"

I needed a happy ending desperately and the Universe with the help of our forum members gave me one.

It's funny, I haven't been as active on this board as in times past but this was the first place I thought to turn to and the people that did help with this happy ending our all people I've known from this board.

Thank you. In the last 10 years or so this board has given me so much. The friends I have made here have transcended the internet and have really become family.

Betty, I'm so relieved that action was taken so fats. And I completely understand when you say:

I've been amazed (and even brought to tears) by things this board has done.

I was amazed Connie.

In less then 8 hours from the initial call the dog had been picked up 1/2 across Texas and was in an experienced hands.

I'm still in awe that Mary, her husband and the person the had my dog did that kind of driving at the last minute.

And for the record Mary never hesitated to say yes when it looked like she may have to make the full 6 hour drive.

Mary (and Anne, and Al) ... wonderful people, all.

Betty, I'm so glad to hear that this turned out well and your dog is in safe hands. (Thank goodness for that chip!) I too am amazed at the generosity and sense of family that can be found on this board, and how members will come together to help another member or a dog in need. As you said, it's way more than just an Internet forum.
