Nala has developed a runny nose out of one nostril only. The only other time I've seen something like this is when my first shepherd had cancer in her sinuses. Is it common for dogs to have this condition?
FYI-3yo F spayed GSD. Very active with good appetite.

Green color warrants a vet visit asap.
Green and yellow are different from clear or even milky. Both green and yellow point toward infection.
I'd be guessing (but I'm not a health professional) that something is happening in or near a sinus cavity, It could be something like a tooth-root infection, or a foreign body, even a foxtail awn.
I'd head for the vet asap.
And IMO, cancer is less likely than other much more common sinus cavity issues.
But something producing green discharge ... and so close to the eye and brain ... is an asap thing.
No odor whatsoever. Of course, my backyard is covered in more leaves than I care to rake up, and this is where Nala chases her orbee ball for hours at a time. I did pull out some specks of leaves from her nose. Her nose looks much better this morning. I'll check it again this afternoon.
Since my last post the drainage is slightly better, but the outside of that nostril (half her nose) has become dry. Vet said it is not a fungus. No foreign body was found with just a simple look see. Treating it as an infection with oral antibiotics for now and topical vitamin e for what he said is probably just a dry nose. There may also be the outside chance that the duct that runs from the eye, down the nose may be clogged. If that is the case he would have to flush the duct.
