Just wondering how everyone is doing in this series of storms. I think many of our board members live in the affected areas. I hope all of you are staying safe and warm.
We got about eight inches of snow, along with horrendous winds, a couple days ago, and are supposed to get another eight to twelve starting tonight and into tomorrow. Today is the warmest day we've had in a long time, high 20s. After this storm tomorrow, our temps are going to plunge for three days, with daytime highs around zero or below.
The dogs and I are feeling a bad case of cabin fever already. I've got one who will go out and go pee quickly, but she doesn't want to do the rest of her business. The other one stands at the door and whines because he wants to go out and play, but when I open the door, he looks out, then looks at me as if to say, "Can't you do something about this?"
How are all of you faring?

Here in Northern NJ we got about 6 inches of snow. Yesterday morning I had the dogs out in the driveway...will find those tennis balls in the spring. This morning we went to our usual field for about 10 minutes. Car thermometer was reading about 1 degree above 0. They slipped and slid, caught some balls until my teeth started chattering (and that's with a down jacket, etc.) Supposed to rain and get warmer tomorrow.
The weatherman is right, it hasn't been this cold for about 20 years.

We getting the tail end of that storm here, that will be mostly freezing rain around Montreal.
Temperature are moving up, last week we had some day that were around -25C plus a good wind chill so -35 day time, at night we had one day at -35C plus wind.
This winter is a pain, very cold, or a lot of precipitation.
Dogs and horses, ok human too are not happy

Waiting to get hit with the coldest temps in 15 yrs here and possible ten inches of snow expected.
Headed below zero and it was in the 60s last Saturday. Go figure!
Most of my family has had colds or the flue since Christmas and one of my sisters lost a friend from the bird flue a couple of days ago.

Just as an aside, I see the title of this thread has changed from "Snow Storm" to "Snow Stoctvrm" overnight. (Just in the Recent Posts and Active Topics. If you look at it through the Forum List, it's still correct.) I have no idea how that could have happened. Maybe mods can fix it.
It's Sunday morning and the snow just started here a couple hours ago. It's light so far, but they are saying it will be very heavy later in the afternoon, maybe an inch an hour. Temps are in the high 20s, but this is supposed to be the warmest day of the bunch. Daytime highs single digits for the next three days or so.
I'm amazed at how far south the snow and freezing temps are extending. On the other hand, those of you reading this from Alaska, the Dakotas, Canada, etc. are probably thinking this is pretty typical winter weather!
eta: I seem to have fixed the topic title issue. It appeared to have changed between Bob's and Anne's posts above. So I deliberately replied to Bob's, which still had the correct title, so that seemed to override the mysterious change. Gremlins on the board, I guess.

In Minnesota, a forecaster said that if you were under 40 you have never experienced the cold temps which are predicted for this week. On Tuesday the HIGH is supposed to be -15 with wind chills to -60. All the schools are already closed. It is 0 now.
I'm praying that my hydrants don't freeze, that my old cow survives, that my hired man shows....
The list goes on and on.
BOY AM I GLAD I AM RETIRED from my country vet practice!!!

Had the shepherds out this morning. My car remote was on a chain around my neck. When we all got back into the SUV, the car wouldn't start. Message on dashboard was "remote not found". Had to rub the remote in my hands for about 30 seconds to get everything working. Brrrrr. (It was about 5 degrees.)
