I don't know if this is old news, did anybody see the video where the taliban claim to have captured a mwd? It showed up on my yahoo but I wasn't able to watch the vid.
My animals are not "like" family, they ARE family.
Yes, I saw that, but I also saw where the military was already discrediting the report. They maintain that it was an ISAF mwd and not one belonging to US forces. Either way, poor dog looks like he is ready to go home.
There is one facet of this that leaves me pondering...
I'm still trying to figure out what leverage they hope to gain by capturing a dog? Maybe they think he'll give away some security secrets, like the Bush's Baked Beans dog?
Duane, I was thinking the same thing and was thinking that they know americans love their dogs, so in their minds a way to lower morale, also they did get some equipment the dog was wearing and the dog itself has value, I don't know if my speculation is close probably not, I just feel bad for the poor beast.
My animals are not "like" family, they ARE family.
They are reported to be treating him well and feeding him a diet of chicken and beef kebab and letting him sleep on blankets. IMO from the video the dog looks quite cowed, but I think someone may be turning a softer hand to him now and again. Better than I expected first hearing of this story.
