I've been away on travel for around a month now. It's been a while since I've seen my puppy. I just got a call today that my brother was attacked by the puppy.. Nothing bad really happened. But here's what happened. (I've told them a million times not to let her on the bed or on the couch). Well, today my brother was lying on the couche when Jinny came into the living room. She ran, jumped on the couch and started biting my brother. Until he got off. She then sat quietly on the couch.. I'm guessing a dominance problem.. But isn't she still too young for a Domainance problem?
Sounds like a little over-exaggeration on someones part. A 3 month old attacking someone sitting on the couch. Sounds more like she was playing a rough game with your brother and won.
exagerated or not, it still must be corrected, when do you plan to start the obedience training?
It does sound like the pup wants to be the boss when you're gone. try the search feature. I remember the same thing being discussed less than a month ago.
Are you going to use your bother as your "helper" it sounds like he's got a good start
Get your dog back before it becomes your brother's dog. I'd call around and see if you can find a proper dog kennel or dog sitter, they're not that expensive and they'll do as they are told or loose your business. Just remember, you can pick your friends but not your relatives
I think the pup is better off where it is getting away with murder than it will be in a kennel environment. Biting is part and parcel of puppies, but the pup is better off with someone who isn't going to correct it than someone who will bully the crap out of it.
In all my years of dogs, I must say that more often then not people working as kennel staff are not qualified in any way to train pups. Most are pretty clueless.
